About the opportunity
This position will support Metro's transport planning function, including data governance, data analysis, and reporting for decision making, the preparation and dissemination of information, advice internally and externally, and the production and maintenance of digital dashboards and other data visualisation and infographic tools. A key deliverable will be the identification and influencing of time and cost savings.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- Analytical skills with an ability to extract, manipulate and interpret data to both fulfil reporting requirements and to provide service planning insights
- At least 12 months experience working in a similar role
- Knowledge and understanding of passenger transport operations and procedures including routes, timetables, duties, and service contract compliance
- Attention to detail and an ability to convey complex information and statistics to a variety of audiences
- Excellent organisational skills and capacity to coordinate a number of workflows simultaneously, including the ability to prioritise, plan and complete own work activities
- High-level written communication skills enabling the production of documents that are clear, accurate and concise
- High-level interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation
- Well-developed investigative skills along with the ability to make sound judgments and solve problems
- Demonstrated capacity to manage sensitive issues and information with tact and discretion
- Computer literacy skills with the ability to use software to enhance work performance
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a similar role
- Ability to satisfy pre-employment checks before taking up the appointment (Police check and Medical assessment)
